The Best Opaque Tights By Wolford

I am a big fan of black opaque tights and I feel like I practically live in them over autumn/winter time. Whenever I wear a skirt or a dress in the cooler months it is rare that I don’t have a pair of black opaque tights on underneath.

I love them for their practicality (they keep your legs lovely and warm) and for their look (as nothing is more slimming than opaque black).

Over the years I’ve spent considerable time and money trying to find the perfect pair of opaque tights. I’d usually end up spending around the $20 mark and purchase about two pair a year that would last me for the season. As I like my opaque tights to look opaque, I would find that a season is all they would last for, before they started to stretch and lose their overall block colour.

However about three years ago I decided to bite the bullet and purchase a pair of what every fashion magazine would always refer to as the “ultimate” black opaque tights – Wolford. In the past I had hesitated to buy them as they are expensive – about $80 a pair. But after never really finding the right pair, and having to always purchase new ones each season, I thought it would be worth giving them a go to see if they really do live up to the hype.

And they do – and more. Since that initial pair, I purchased another the following season and have not had to buy a new pair since. They honestly look the same today as when I removed them from the packet. They have kept their shape, they wash and dry amazingly, they have not pilfered at all and they still look a solid black all over. Even though the initial outlay was considerably more, they have certainly been worth the money.
