Source Code Movie Review

22-May-2011 By Simon
I thought this film was terrific fun however I'm still trying to figure out the physics involved in this film. Maybe I'm just dumb but as the film neared completion it really got me thinking, with the actual conclusion itself quite a mind bender.

Now when I say “mind bender” I'm not sure whether the director intended it that way or it’s just badly made with too many questions left unanswered. I can't really go into too much detail in this review as it will give away too much.

It's a full-on action thriller with a nod to Groundhog Day and bit of romantic comedy too. It rushes on with great pace and despite the potential boredom in the character reliving the same eight minutes, I was surprised how quickly the end of the film seemed to come.

Basically it’s a good film and it will keep you glued to the screen all the way to the credits. The acting isn't exactly top notch and there isn't really any hot action but there is a lot of thought on alternate dimensions or universes and what you think is or can be real.

Don't go looking for something deep, just go along for the 90-minute ride.

    4 out of 5 stars
I enjoyed this film. A lot! I loved that it made me think, not exactly common in most American action-on-a-train flicks, and was not predictable. Like this reviewer, I am not sure that I had a full grasp of the quantum physics required but was happy to
let that wash over me. It is hard to talk about this film without giving anything away but Jake did a great job of looking puzzled, tense and determined in equal measure and definitely held the screen for the length of the film. He is also ridiculously good
looking which doesn't hurt. The director, Duncon Jones, delivers a well-paced action piece that in no way compromises the emotional story-line. This is the guy who directed Moon, which should be compulsory viewing. He is also the son of David Bowie but that
is by the by. This is one the of the best films in the cinema at the moment. I liked it a bit more than this reviewer but then, I am a sucker for Jake.
