Oprahs Amazing Australian Adventure

31-Jan-2011 By SD
There was a time not long ago that when people referred to "The Big O" they were talking about orgasms. Not these days - now most people will think of Oprah. This shows how popular she is. Not that many people can replace orgasms in popular culture.

I'm a fan of Oprah, and when I heard that she would be bringing her show and around 300 of her viewers as a part of her last season to Australia I was very excited. Mostly though I was excited for Australia, as what better way to show off our gorgeous country than by having one of the most influential people in the world do it to millions of people across the globe.

I've just finished watching all four episodes and I loved it, just loved every part of it. Yes I have tears in my eyes, yes it was corny in parts but I don't care. And the reason is that I honestly think that Oprah is the real deal. I believe her when she says that she loves Australia, I believe that she honestly does enjoy helping people out, giving money/ gifts away, that she still gets star struck by famous people and loves to meet all different types of people.

What I also loved about the program is that I really felt she captured Australia and not just the clichés about our country that most people from overseas know. She had a BBQ with a real Australian family, she ate what we eat, and she made a real effort to speak properly too. Aussie ( instead of Ossie) and she even pronounced Melbourne correctly - respect, Oprah.

So thanks Oprah - I loved your program and loved having you here. You are a truly inspiring person & you are welcome back any time. I’d love to have you over to dinner too!
