Glad Wrap Ezy Cutter Bar Review

06-Jan-2011 By Linda
I love Glad Wrap, and although I know it’s not great for the environment and try to use re-usable containers instead, there are times when only Glad Wrap will do the job.

It’s been a great product for many years. Like many Glad Wrap users I’ve suffered my share of cuts and scrapes from the cutting teeth, so I was pretty excited when my latest Glad Wrap roll came with a ‘free’ Ezy-Cutter bar. After fumbling with the box for some time “pressing here” and there in all the required places, I guessed that the ‘ezy’ part of the cutter bar must refer to use not to installation, and so I persevered.

But, oh, I regret the day that I ever installed that ridiculous bar! It’s absolutely dreadful. Every time I use it, the Glad Wrap bunches up, sticks to itself and makes my life a misery. There is nothing easy about the Ezy-Cutter bar and I’m counting every single one of the 90 metres of Glad Wrap I have to go before I can replace the package!!!!

Now, as a self-aware person, I accepted the fact that the problem could, indeed be a user one – a good tradesperson never blames their tools right? So I did some research – qualitative of course (that’s the version where you gather opinions but not enough to make it statistically robust – ie I asked my girlfriends!) There were no leading questions, I just asked if they’d used it and how they felt about it. Well, I feel vindicated, because 100% of those I asked agreed with me.

So my advice to you Ladies is, if you haven’t already installed the Ezy-Cutter bar – DON’T!!! If anyone from Glad Wrap is reading – please, please stick with the teeth – I promise no more complaints about the cuts!!

I feel so sorry for you, I have used this device for over 15 years and never had a problem. Maybe you should learn to use it properly. Wake up and live.

Hmmm Geoff this device hasn't been around for 15 years so not sure what you are referring to. I think you mean the actual box with the serrated edge. I also tried the ezy cutter and it wasn't that easy.
