Boy Charlton Swimming Pool

If you are looking for a proper lap swimming pool in the city area, you can’t go past the Boy Charlton Pool. Personally I prefer outdoor swimming pools, as I find indoor ones stuffy and claustrophobic. And swimming under the blue Australian sky just can’t be beat – just make sure you go early or late to avoid the harsh run rays if you are concerned. I also like swimming in salt water pools, rather than chlorine only ones, so this pool ticks both of those boxes.

It is very clean, well looked after and has designated swimming lanes that are adhered to by staff and swimmers. And again it is set in a magnificent location – how wonderful to be doing laps, looking to your left and seeing the Royal Botanical Gardens and looking to your right and seeing the sights of Potts Point and Woolloomooloo. Spectacular.

The only downside of this pool, is that no matter what time of the day you go, you will have to pay for parking unless you want to take a long walk from Woolloomooloo. And this adds considerably to the cost of a visit. But the pool does not disappoint. Easily one of the best lap pools in Sydney.
