Bondi Icebergs Swimming Pool
20-Dec-2011 By SDThis is a beach pool, meaning that it is filled with water from the ocean and as a result of this has the temperature and temperament of the ocean that it receives its waters from. Hence the water can be very cold at times (they don’t call it Icebergs for nothing) and choppy as well.
Swimming here can be quite a challenge and I would only recommend regular use this pool for seasoned swimmers due to the conditions that can be encountered. Whilst most beach pools are free of charge, you do have to pay at Bondi Icebergs, but in return for that you do get change rooms, hot showers, toilets, lane ropes etc.
And what you also get is one of the most magnificent settings in the world to do your laps in. When the conditions are lovely, this pool has a magical quality about it that makes you grateful for the wonder, simplicity and beauty of nature.
NB: It is closed every Thursday
